Dull Barn Gets Facelift

Barn_for_Web_pageP1010179Tom & Kerry Dull’s 122-year-old barn in Boone County looks good as new now, thanks to the efforts of dozens of young FFA members who contributed their labor in a two-day effort to restore the historic structure on April 15-16  Crews replaced rotted boards, repaired doors and applied three coats of paint to the barn in the Thorntown-area. They also added a brick sidewalk and landscaping.

Indiana and National FFA leadership and alumni attended the barn restoration celebration on April 18, along with executives from Campbell’s Soup.  Central Indiana media outlets also covered the story during the barn renovation.

The project is one of five in the U.S. being partially funded by New Jersey-based Campbell Soup, which has donated $250,000 to the FFA and barn preservation projects. The others are one each in Maryland and North Carolina, plus two in Michigan.  Tom Dull is a Boone REMC and ISA Director.
